How narrow a gate can your grinder get through?

The Bandit SG-40 is approximately 74cm wide. If your gate or passage is narrower than that, or the route has obstacles the Bandit cannot get past, we use the Terminator instead.

Can you remove a stump if there is no side access?

Yes. The Terminator is portable enough to be carried through a property, so we can reach enclosed rear gardens a stump grinder cannot get to.

Can you carry your equipment through my house?

Yes, where necessary. We agree the route with you beforehand and take care to protect your home on the way through.

Can you work close to patios, sheds and walls?

Yes. We regularly work close to patios, walls, sheds, fences and planting, and will explain the best approach for your garden before we start.

What do you need from me to quote?

A photo of the stump, photos of the access route from the road to the stump, the approximate size of the stump and your postcode.

The right machine for the access

Our main machine is the Bandit SG-40, a tracked stump grinder approximately 74cm wide. That is narrow enough for many garden gates and side passages a full-size grinder cannot get through.

Where access is more restricted, we use the Terminator. It is portable enough to carry through a gate, down steps or through the house, so we can reach stumps in enclosed rear gardens.

On some jobs we use both: the Bandit for the stumps it can reach, and the Terminator for the rest. The standard grinding depth and finish are the same either way.

What fits where

Bandit SG-40: Approximately 74cm wide. Suits many gates and side passages.
Terminator: For more restricted access, including through the house.
Grinding depth: Approximately 8" (20cm) below ground level as standard
Wood chips: Raked back into the hole. Removal can be quoted separately.

Excellent stump grinding service in Old Harlow. My stump was in my garden with very tight access through the side gate, but The Stump Grinding Company had the right equipment to get through and remove it without issue.
