The job
A large stump in an established garden.
This large stump was sitting right in the middle of a well-established planted bed in Bishop’s Stortford.
With mature plants, brick edging, paving and garden lighting surrounding the stump, removing it was only half the job. Everything around it needed protecting while we worked.
The work
Protect the garden. Remove the stump.
We set up a full debris guard around the stump and used ground protection to protect the paving and surrounding area.
For this job we used the hybrid pedestrian stump grinder, which was ideal for working within the landscaped garden and getting into position without using a larger tracked machine.
The stump was then progressively ground out, taking care around the established planting and surrounding features.
The result
Stump gone. Garden left intact.
Once the stump was removed, we raked the grindings back through the area and left the bed clean and tidy.
The stump was completely out of the way while the brick edging, paving and surrounding planting were left intact.
