Tree Stump Grinding & Removal

The job

A giant copper beech to remove.

A large mature copper beech in Hitchin needed to be removed completely, tree and stump.

This was a collaborative job: we worked with Carbon Tree Care Ltd, who carried out the tree removal, dismantling the copper beech down to the stump.

That left an enormous copper beech stump behind — far too large to leave in place — which needed specialist stump removal once the tree was down.

The work

Our part: grinding out the stump.

With the copper beech taken down by Carbon Tree Care Ltd, we brought in our Bandit SG-40 tracked stump grinder to deal with the giant stump that remained.

A stump this size holds a huge amount of timber, so we worked steadily across the cut face and root plate, grinding the beech down into wood chippings.

The result

A giant beech stump, ground out.

The enormous copper beech stump was ground down where it stood, turning the giant stump into a bed of fresh wood chippings.
